Al-Keeb discusses with the Russian ambassador to Libya cooperation in the cultural and scientific fields.

Tripoli, February 7, 2024 (LANA) - Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Imran Al-Keeb, in Tripoli today, Wednesday, discussed with the Russian Ambassador to Libya, Aidar Aghanen, cooperation between the two countries in the cultural and scientific fields.

  According to the ministry, the Russian side submitted a draft agreement for cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries, which included the exchange of visits by officials, experts, scientists, and graduate students, and the mutual participation of scientists and researchers in the activities of conferences, seminars, and research meetings.

During the meeting, they also discussed providing the opportunity to use and exchange documents, publications, and information related to the higher education system, qualifying specialists, and conducting scientific research, in addition to exchanging scholarships, exchanging students, graduate students, and university professors, exchanging experience in the field of using modern research information technologies in the field of scientific research, and encouraging the study of the language, culture, history and literature for students of both sides in educational and research institutions.

The proposal also included reformulating the draft agreement signed in 1975, which included an executive program for cultural cooperation between the two countries, in addition to facilitating the procedures for admission, entry visas, and residency necessary for Libyan students whom the ministry intends to send for postgraduate studies at Russian universities in the field of ophthalmology.
