Tripoli, April 25, 2024 (LANA) - The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, discussed today, Thursday in Tripoli, with the European Union Ambassador, Nicola Orlando, the latest developments in the Libyan political situation.

According to the Council's Media Office, the meeting focused on discussing developments in the Libyan political situation after the failure of the former UN envoy's mission, his resignation, and the appointment of his deputy, Stephanie Khoury, and discussing proposals that would end the political stalemate and move the country along a sound democratic path.

According to the office, Takala appreciated the role played by the European Union in ending the dispute between the Libyan political parties in an effort to achieve stability in Libya and the entire region.
