Libya and Turkey sign a memorandum of understanding in the arts and culture areas.

Tripoli, April 27, 2024 (Lana): Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Mabrouka Tughi, signed yesterday with her Turkish counterpart, Mehmet Nuri Ersu, a memorandum of understanding in the area of culture and the arts.

The signing ceremony, which was held at the Ataturk Cultural Center in Istanbul, was attended by the Acting Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries, Nasr al-Din al-Fazzani, the Libyan Ambassador to Turkey, Mustafa al-Qalib, the Libyan Consul General in Istanbul, Salah al-Din al-Kaseh, and the Undersecretary of the Libyan Ministry of Tourism, Hanan al-Hassi.

In this memorandum, which was initialed, the two sides agreed, in accordance with the regulations and laws in force in Libya and Turkey, to enhance cultural exchange in the area of culture through several paths, including the exchange of visits between experts, writers, and creative people.

This agreement also aims to exchange experiences, knowledge, and skills, publish books, and build capabilities to improve the qualifications of workers in the area of culture and arts in both countries through various programs, including training and workshops, and participation in book fairs, seminars, conferences, literary festivals, and cultural and intellectual weeks in all areas of culture and creativity.
