Al-Dbaiba reaffirms support for Bathily's efforts to conduct elections

Tripoli, March 8, 2023 (LANA) - Head of the Government National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba, affirmed his support for the efforts of the UN envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, which are in line with his government's vision for the next stage, the most important of which is going in one track towards elections.

This came during Al-Dbaiba's meeting, Wednesday, with ambassadors of the countries of the International Contact Group on Libya, which was held at the Cabinet Office in Tripoli.

The media office of the prime minister said that the meeting was devoted to briefing Prime Minister Abdel Hamid al-Dbaiba about results of the recent international contact group meetings in the United States, and the recent UN Security Council session on Libya.

The ambassadors of the countries of the International Contact Group affirmed their support for the efforts of Envoy Bathily to hold elections before the end of this year, praising the efforts made by the Government of National Unity in this file and its clear vision in this regard.

During the meeting, of al-Dbaiba stressed the need to end the transitional stages and unify local and international efforts to issue a constitutional rule, with the need for a document for the parties to accept the results, stressing that the government continues to provide services to all Libyans despite the circumstances.
