Stefanie Williams tweets about missing Libyan MP Siham Serqiwa since 2019, demanding disclosure of her fate.

  Tripoli, 24 January 2022 (Lana) UN Secretary-General Special Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams posted three tweets on her twitter account on Monday about the member of the House of Representatives Siham Sergiwa missing  since July 2019.

 The first tweet read: "Once again, attention is turning today to the House of Representatives, where it discusses the fate of the national elections which were originally scheduled for 24. It is an opportunity to remind all that a seat in Parliament remains vacant for 922 days, it is the seat of Siham Sergiwa who was abducted by armed men violently from her home in Benghazi on 17 July 2019.

 The third tweet reads: "We continue to ask the relevant authorities to disclose the fate of MP Siham Sergiwa, especially that the perpetrators of this heinous crime against a woman and an elected member of Parliament are still at large." In the third tweet, she called for an investigation into the abduction of the MP, saying that "we stand with siham's family, and thousands of supporters and all Libyan women who risk their lives by participating in political and public life in order to achieve justice for Sergiwa.
