Attorney General's Office: 128 kilograms of cocaine coming from Ecuador were seized.

Tripoli, March 31, 2024 (LANA) - The Public Prosecutor’s Office announced the seizure of (128) kilograms of cocaine, after it arrived from Ecuador to the port of Benghazi.

      The office stated in a publication yesterday, Saturday, that the quantity was placed in two containers designated for preserving foodstuffs, so that its transportation to the city of Al-Bayda could be organized after its arrival from the Republic of Ecuador to the port of Benghazi.

     The office explained that after one of the suspects was arrested and brought, he confessed to the fact that he belonged to an organized criminal group that deliberately brought narcotic substances into the country and traded in them more than once with the help of a customs guard officer.

     The Public Prosecutor's Office added that the investigator decided to imprison the arrested defendant and the officer conspiring with the organized criminal group, and directed the judicial police to pursue the rest of those who contributed to the criminal incidents.
