Tripoli, April 29, 2024 (Lana) The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu-Janah, participated in the high-level consultative meeting of the intergovernmental negotiating authority concerned with drafting the text of an agreement on pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response, which was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

 More than 33 African countries participated in the African meeting, represented by their Ministers of Health and Ambassadors of these countries in the Swiss capital Geneva, and representatives from various continents and international organizations, with the aim of reaching a final agreement.

The Ministry of Health's media office stated that the text of an agreement is expected to be approved and signed in May 2024 in Geneva at the General Assembly meeting of the World Health Organization.
