Tripoli, April 29, 2024 (Lana) The U.S. Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, met yesterday with a number of Libyan youth from Misrata, Tarhuna, Bani Walid, Zawiya, and Sahl El-Jfara.

The Embassy said in a tweet that Norland said, "Today in Misrata, it was inspiring to meet Libyan youth actively engaged in promoting peace and reconciliation within their communities.”

“These youth from Misrata, as well as others from Tarhuna, Bani Walid, Zawiya, and Sahl El-Jfara, have participated in a U.S. government-funded initiative,” Norland added.

“This initiative aimed at overcoming divisions among Libyans. We were very impressed by this talented group of young people and what they can bring to Libya’s future," he added.
