Tripoli, March 18, 2024 (Lana): The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, said that “the continued increase in public spending, especially the dangerous inflation in the fuel subsidy item for 2023, requires urgent and decisive treatment of the policies of public institutions and not burdening its consequences with the citizen.”

“We are determined to form technical subcommittees to verify the causes of the inflation in Chapter One expenses, fuel subsidies, and ways to save the Libyan economy, and we will adhere to their recommendations,” he added in a tweet.

Al-Menfi called on the Libyan institutions concerned with public spending to notify their representatives to participate in the first meeting of the Supreme Financial Committee for 2024 next week.
