Tripoli, March 6, 2024 (Lana): U.S. Envoy and Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, said that the United States and Japan share the goals of promoting progress on political, security, and economic tracks in Libya.

“Wishing Ambassador Shimmura, the new Japanese Ambassador to Libya, good luck in his new assignment, and we look forward to working closely together." Norland said in a tweet.

Last February, in Tripoli, the new Japanese ambassador, “Shimmura Izuru,” was received, who is the first ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Japan to Libya after an absence of ten years since 2014.

The embassy said that Shimmura will lead Japanese diplomacy in Libya to strengthen relations between the two countries in various areas.
