Bathily meets with the Japanese Ambassador to Libya.

Tripoli, 13 February 2024 (Lana): The UN Special Representative of the General-Secretary for Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, met yesterday with the newly-appointed Japanese Ambassador to Libya, Izuru Shimmura.
In a tweet, Bathily commended Japan’s unwavering support in the Security Council and through its chairmanship of the Sanctions Committee on Libya, and also commended its relief aid to people in East Libya via UN agencies.
“I underscored the importance of concerted regional and international efforts in fostering lasting peace and stability in Libya. We agreed that the solution to the ongoing crisis should come from the Libyans themselves through a UN-facilitated process,” Bathily added.
