La Paz, November 01, 2023 (LANA) - The government of Bolivia announced the severing of diplomatic relations with the Israeli enemy due to its attacks on the Gaza Strip, while neighboring Colombia and Chile recalled their ambassadors for consultations.

The three South American countries condemned the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and condemned the killing of Palestinian citizens.

Bolivian Deputy Foreign Minister Freddy Mamani said in a press conference that, his country "decided to sever diplomatic relations with the Israeli state in rejection and condemnation of the aggressive and disproportionate Israeli military attack taking place in the Gaza Strip."

The three countries called for a ceasefire, and urged to pass humanitarian aid into the Strip and accused the Israeli enemy of violating international laws.

Colombian President Gustapo Petro described the attacks in a post on the X social networking site as a "massacre of the Palestinian people."
