German Chancellor will lead a delegation of German companies to China.

BEIJING, April 13, 2024 (LANA) - Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said, that the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will begin an official visit to China tomorrow, Sunday, April 14. He will pay a three-day visit to China, in response to an invitation from Chinese Premier Li Zhiyang, according to what was reported by the official Chinese news agency Xinhua. 

Schulz is accompanied on his tour by a delegation of directors of major German companies, including Siemens, Bayer, Mercedes-Benz and BMW, as well as the ministers of environment, agriculture and transport, according to what German media revealed.

Followers of Chinese affairs said that this visit also comes at a time when criticism directed at Beijing  against the backdrop of its close relationship with Moscow.

Washington warned Beijing that it would be held "responsible" if Russian forces advanced further into Ukraine, which prompted a strongly worded response from China, which rejected any "pressure" on its relationship with the Kremlin.
