USA refuses to consider the Israeli occupation’s targeting of civilians in Gaza a war crime.

Washington, November 02, 2023  (LANA) - US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller refused to consider the Israeli occupation forces’ bombing of civilians in Gaza a “war crime,” and he also evaded answering questions about why Washington did not condemn the Israeli attacks.

This came in Miller's daily press conference, today, Thursday, in response to journalists' questions about the Israeli bombing that targeted homes in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, and led to the killing of hundreds of civilians.

In response to a question about whether the US State Department considers the actions of the Israeli entity “war crimes,” he said that the department does not currently have an assessment in this regard.

In his answer to a question about why they did not condemn the killing of civilians in the Jabalia attack, he said that they “feel very sorry for the killing of civilians,” and that they “will continue to warn their Israeli counterparts to reduce the harm to civilians," according to him.

Miller responded that Israel "abides by the law of war" in its attacks, adding: "I am not in a position to make an assessment about the attack, just as I cannot make an assessment about other attacks."
