Rome, December 07, 2022 (LANA) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, "Najla al-Manqoush," stressed the need to establish a constitutional basis before holding elections in Libya.
The Italian Nova news agency quoted Al-Manqoush as saying in press statements on the sidelines of the "Mediterranean Dialogues" conference held in Rome recently, "We need a constitutional basis to organize the elections. We are waiting for Parliament and the State Council to determine it, and after that comes our responsibility to organize the elections.”
"We have launched campaigns to educate people about the importance of elections and the fact that the best way forward is to hold free and fair elections," she continued.
