After his visit to the archaeological site of Leptis Magna, Ambassador Norland: We look forward to working with Libya to protect cultural property.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, April 28, 2024 (LANA) - The US Special Envoy, Ambassador Richard Norland, expressed his admiration for the archaeological site of Leptis Magna in the city of Al-Khoms, describing it as one of the archaeological and historical treasures that Libya abounds with.
This came in a tweet by Ambassador Norland, published by the US Embassy on its website on the X platform, following the visit he made yesterday, Saturday, to the archaeological site, in which he also praised the efforts of the Antiquities Authority and the people of the city of Al-Khoms in preserving this archaeological treasure.
He said, “The United States looks forward to working with its Libyan counterparts through the joint memorandum of understanding on the protection of cultural property, which was renewed last year, to preserve this wonderful heritage.”
