Tripoli, April 29, 2024 (LANA) - President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, discussed today, Monday in Tripoli, with the American special envoy Richard Norland, developments in the political situation in Libya and activating the work of the Supreme Financial Committee.

During the meeting, according to the media office of the President of the Council, the two sides discussed developments in the political situation, mechanisms for breaking the current stalemate, and working to reach consensuses leading to holding elections.

According to the office, the two parties discussed the importance of activating the work of the Supreme Finance Committee due to the inability to reach a unified constitutional budget law, and the importance of the participation of all parties to cover all basic requirements, determine spending priorities, and address its inflation.

During the meeting, Al-Manfi praised the efforts made by the Reconstruction and Development Fund to recover the affected areas, especially in the city of Derna, and the importance of having real support for these efforts from all institutions to make them successful.
