UAE welcomes the results of the meeting of the Libyan parties in Cairo.

Abu Dhabi, March 15, 2024  (LANA) - UAE has welcomed the results of the meeting that took place at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, during which the Libyan parties agreed to supervise the presidential and parliamentary elections, and to confirm Libya’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

In a statement yesterday, the Ministry praised the efforts of the Arab League to make the dialogue a success and the important agreements reached to achieve a political settlement in Libya, expressing its hope that the agreement would be an important step in enhancing security and stability in Libya, and complementary to the efforts of the United Nations mission.

The Ministry also renewed the UAE's firm position calling for resolving the conflict in Libya, and its full support for what preserves the security, stability and unity of Libya, in accordance with the outcomes of the road map, Security Council resolutions, and the outcomes of the political dialogue approved by the United Nations Mission and the UN Security Council.
