Trabelsi discusses with the Italian ambassador to Libya the issues of immigration and smuggling.

Tripoli, February 7, 2024 (LANA) - The Minister of Interior in charge, Major General Imad Al-Trabelsi, discussed today, Wednesday, the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, the files of illegal immigration and smuggling.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the two sides discussed the issues of immigration and smuggling and their political, economic, social, health and security repercussions on the two countries and the extent of their connection to cross-border organized crime and terrorism.
According to the ministry, the two parties also discussed the prospects for joint security cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance it to ensure the achievement of the common interest.
