President of ICRC: Gaza Strip represents a moral failure of the international community

Geneva, December 20, 2023 (LANA) - The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spolijaric, said that the conflict in the Gaza Strip represents a “moral failure” of the international community, urging all parties to reach a new agreement to stop combat operations.
Spoliarich, added in press statements in Geneva yesterday, Tuesday: “I was talking about moral failure because every day, this continues, is an additional day in which the international community has not proven its ability to end this high level of suffering, and this will have an impact on generations not only in Gaza".
She explained that nothing will happen without an agreement between the two parties, so we urge them to continue negotiations and to continue facilitating the space we need to implement the releases of (hostages and prisoners).
The President of the ICRC, Mirjana Spolijaric, described the suffering of the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip as “unbearable,” during a visit to the Strip on the fourth of this month.
