Tripoli, March 18, 2024 (LANA) - The Minister of Interior in charge of the National Unity Government, “Imad Trabelsi,” today, Monday, assigned the Law Enforcement Department of the General Administration of Security Operations to go to the Ras Jdir border crossing with Tunisia.
The Ministry of Interior said in urgent news published on its Facebook page, that “Trabelsi” specified the administration’s mission to support the Security Directorate and the security services in combating smuggling, security violations, and negative phenomena at the border crossing in order to manage the movement of passengers and maintain the security of the crossing.
The ministry did not mention any other details.
Last December, Trabelsi announced that the Ministry of Interior took control of the Ras Ijdir port, and changed a number of security leaders at the port.
