Tripoli, March 12, 2024 (LANA) - The United Nations and Tunisia reaffirmed the need for Libyan leaders to reach a political settlement to hold elections.
This came during a meeting with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, “Abdallah Batili,” with the Tunisian Ambassador to Libya, “Al-Assaad Al-Ajili,” and discussed with him the political and security situation in the country.
"Last night, during the meeting, we also reviewed the latest developments in the situation in Libya," Batili said on his computer on the X platform.
At the conclusion of the meeting with the Tunisian ambassador, the UN envoy reiterated “the United Nations mission’s gratitude for what he described as the exemplary support provided to it by the Tunisian authorities at the highest levels.”
