The Chairman of the High Electoral Commission meets with the Chargé d'Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Libya.

Tripoli, March 5, 2024 (LANA) - The Chairman of the Council of the High National Elections Commission, “Imad Al-Sayeh,” met today, Tuesday, with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Libya, “Ahmed Al-Shahiri,” at the Council’s office.

The Commission's media office stated that the meeting was attended by Council Member Rabab Halab, and reviewed a number of files related to electoral affairs and the importance of Arab and regional countries' support for the upcoming elections, as they reflect on the peace and stability of the Arab region, and discussed ways to support proposals that guarantee their success in accordance with international standards. ‏

During the meeting, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirmed his government's support for the democratic path in Libya, praising the efforts made by the Commission and those in charge of it to provide ideal conditions for holding elections in accordance with the highest standards applicable in the world.

During the meeting, Al-Shahiri made an inspection tour inside the Commission’s headquarters and looked at its equipment and the facilities of the media center and the counting and statistics center.
