Ministers of Health and Finance meet with World Bank delegation.

Tripoli, March 02, 2024 (LANA) - Deputy Prime Minister and designate Minister of Health Ramadan Abu Jannah, accompanied by Finance Minister Khaled Al-Mabrouk and a delegation of World Bank experts in Tripoli, discussed enhancing cooperation and developing health sector services in Libya.

During the meeting, which was held in the Prime Minister’s Office, according to the Ministry of Health, a number of issues related to the health sector were discussed, and the implementation of the agreement concluded between the two sides was followed up to support the sector in the field of organizing the human resources file, the health economy and insurances, supporting primary health care, and the digital health program.

Representatives of the World Bank reviewed the areas and locations of the Bank’s interventions, the possibilities available to increase them, and the spaces for joint work that meet the needs of the Ministry of Health and its various facilities.

The attendees also discussed the results of the World Bank’s report on the rapid assessment of the damages and needs resulting from the storm and floods that struck eastern Libya in 2023.
