The Secretary General of the Arab Maghreb Union stresses the need to expedite holding elections in Libya

Tripoli, May 01, 2023 (LANA) - The Secretary-General of the Arab Maghreb Union, "Tayeb Al-Bakoush," stressed the necessity of holding elections in Libya and respecting the will and demands of the Libyans to achieve security and stability in their country.
Al-Bakoush said in press statements that all the UN envoys set many dates for holding the elections in Libya, but no date was respected because the appropriate conditions for them were not ripened.
He stressed that the solution could be with the support of Maghreb and under the umbrella of the United Nations. Noting that he traveled twice to Libya, one during the era of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord, "Fayez al-Sarraj," and the second during the era of the government of national unity headed by "Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba," in an effort to contribute to holding elections and support all solutions that would achieve stability in Libya.
