Al-Sunni discusses with the representative of Mozambique the developments of the situation in Libya and Gaza.

Tripoli, May 9, 2024 (LANA) - Libya’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Al-Taher Al-Sunni, discussed on Wednesday evening with Pedro Afonso, the representative of Mozambique, whose country presided over the Security Council for this month, the political situation in Libya and the African Group’s support for the will of the Libyans for stability and an exit from the current crisis.

  Al-Sunni said in a tweet posted on the X platform, “The meeting that took place at the latter’s headquarters at the United Nations also touched on the session that the Security Council will hold on Libya on the fourteenth of this month, in which the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court will present his briefing.”

    According to Al-Sunni, the meeting also discussed the latest developments in the situation in Gaza, the recent threats to storm the city of Rafah, and the importance of working to implement Security Council Resolution 2728 regarding an immediate ceasefire.
