New York, May 14, 2024 (LANA) - Libya's representative to the UN Security Council, Ambassador Al-Taher Al-Sunni, expressed his surprise that the briefing of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on Libya did not include the Tarhuna crimes file.

Al-Sunni said in his speech following the briefing of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on Libya on Tuesday before the Security Council, “We noticed that the Tarhuna crimes file was completely dropped from the cases under investigation, and we regret the failure to reveal those involved and issue arrest warrants against them,” pointing out that the situation in Libya It cannot be viewed in isolation from the volume of foreign interventions.

Al-Sunni asked: Should we wait until the end of next year to obtain results and issue arrest lists?

The Libyan delegate to the UN Security Council added in his speech, “We understand from the court’s report that it will work for more years without knowing the end of its term and without referring to Libya’s approval for that.”
