Al-Dabaiba and his colleagues discuss combating financial crime and money laundering.

Tripoli, May 12, 2024 (LANA) - The meeting held today, Sunday, at the Office of the Administrative Control Authority between the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, “Abdulhamid Al-Dabaiba” and the Chairman of the Authority, “Abdullah Qadirbuh,” was devoted to discussing the fight against financial crime and money laundering.

According to the media office of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, the meeting, which was attended by the ministers of education, transportation, and state for cabinet affairs, heads of executive agencies, and a number of department directors in the authority, discussed a number of joint files falling under the supervision of the Authority of the Administrative Control Authority, the most prominent of which is organizing the mechanism for granting approvals for contracts concluded by executive authorities, where an administrative mechanism was agreed upon to ensure the completion of contracts according to the approved timetables.

The meeting also discussed cooperation in the field of combating crime and money laundering between the work teams of the Authority and the Anti-Financial Crime and Money Laundering Agency, which was recently established by the unity government.

Qadirbuh praised the decision of the National Unity Government regarding the establishment of the agency, stressing that it will support the efforts of the authority and the Office of the Attorney General, indicating the role of the authority in coordinating with the relevant international organizations and activating Libya’s role in regional and international forums.

Al-Dabaiba stressed that the government works in accordance with the laws and legislation regulating regulatory bodies at all levels, and that it is ready to cooperate in all joint files, stressing that the government considers the observations of regulatory bodies to be important indicators of the progress of work in ministries, bodies and institutions.
