The First Deputy President of the High Council of State discusses with the Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister for Parliamentary Affairs the political developments in the country

Tripoli, April 30, 2024 (LANA) - First Deputy Speaker of the High Council of State, Masoud Obaid, discussed today, Tuesday, with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Fukazawa Yoichi, and his accompanying delegation, the political developments in the country, and the challenges facing holding general elections.

The Council's media office stated that the meeting was attended by Rapporteur Belkacem Debrez, a number of members, and the Chargé d'Affairs of the Libyan Embassy in Japan. He discussed the electoral laws that were referred to the High Electoral Commission by the 6+6 Committee.

The meeting held in the Council reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of strengthening and developing them in various fields, especially with regard to energy, environment, education and health, and the necessity of unifying efforts to combat terrorism and respect the principles of human rights.
