The Charge d'Affairs of the United States Embassy to Libya affirms his country's commitment to supporting Libya.

Tripoli, May 21, 2024 (LANA) - The Charge d'Affaires of the United States Embassy to Libya, Jeremy Brent, affirmed his country's commitment to supporting Libya in its efforts to develop the communications and information technology sector.

This came during the meeting held today, Tuesday, between the Chairman of the General Authority for Communications and Informatics, “Abdel Basset Al-Baour,” and the Charge d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Libya, “Jeremy Brent,” to discuss enhancing cooperation between Libya and the United States of America in the field of communications and information technology, in the presence of the Regional Ministerial Advisor for Commercial Affaires. "Kate Kirkham."

According to the media office of the Ministry of Communications, the head of the Communications and Informatics Authority explained that, the meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of exchanging experiences and building human capabilities, through training and qualification programs, supporting the participation of Libyan competencies in specialized international conferences and events, and the possibility of benefiting from modern American technology in the field of communications. and information technology, including fifth generation technologies.

During the meeting, Al-Baour stressed the Authority’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with various international bodies, including the United States of America, to benefit from global expertise and experience in the field of communications and information technology.

For his part, the Chargé d'Affairs of the United States Embassy to Libya, Jeremy Brent, explained that his country has extensive experience in the field of communications and information technology, and that it is ready to provide the necessary support to Libya in this field.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed, according to the media office, to continue cooperation and exchange experiences in the field of communications and information technology, in a way that contributes to achieving digital development in Libya and enhancing the well-being of citizens.
