Civil Registry Opens Offices in Neighboring Countries to Offer National Number Services.

Tripoli, 8 February 2015(Lana) The civil registry has announced that in coordination with Libyan embassies and consulates, it would open offices in neighboring countries, in which there are large Libyan communities, to offer national number services and other services to Libyans living temporarily in those countries. The step came after the Central Bank of Libya announced that no salaries or grants would be paid without a national number, and as part of the upgrading programme the authority is introducing to improve services to Libyan expats. Former Regime Key Officials Trial Adjourned to Feb 22.

Tripoli, 8 February 2015(Lana) The Tripoli Appeals Court has adjourned to Feb. 22 the trial of key officials of the former regime, in the case NO 630/2011, at the request of the defence and the General Prosecution. A judicial source told the Libyan news agency the court insisted that Seif Gaddafi, the son of the deposed dictator must appear before the court in the next session.
