Ministry of Local Government Decides to Relegate Some Authorities to Local Councils.

Tripoli, 10 February 2015(Lana) The NSG Ministry of Local Government has issued a number of decisions to relegate some authorities to municipalities including revenues and spending the taxed money. The Ministry's Higher Committee for Local Government Strategy has outlined a list of revenues of local nature that would be relegated to the municipalities and local councils in accordance with the guidelines set by enforced legislations. Special Deterrence Force arrests a gang that kidnaps people.

Tripoli, 09.02.2015 (Lana) Special Deterrence Force (SDF) in collaboration with Coy 42 arrested at dawn Sunday a gang that kidnaps people for ransom in exchange for their release. SDF spokesman, Mahmud Hamza said one of the kidnappers was killed in exchange of fire and another one was arrested when a retreat in Aien Zara Tripoli suburb used as a hide out by the gang was stormed. In a statement Hamza said the storming led to freeing of one kidnapped person. HRW documement 91 attack cases against journalists in Libya.

Tripoli, 09.02.2015(Lana) Human Rights Watch announced on Monday that it hhad documented 91 attack cases against journalists in Libya from mid 2012 to Nov. 2014. The Organization said in its report on war on media: journalists in Libya are under attack "The various armed groups in Libya attacked, kidnapped, threatened and violently killed Libyan journalists and they escaped punishment for the past two years, this forced many to flee the country or observed self control, as the successive governments failed to protect the journalists." UNICEF to Offer Psychological and Social Support to Libyan Displaced Children.

Tripoli, 9 February 2015(Lana) The United Nations children Fund has announced that it signed an agreement with Sheikh Taher Al Zawi Foundation to offer psychological and social support to Libyan displaced children. UNICEF Special Representative in Libya Ghassan Khalil said 'UNICEF's partnership with Libyan civil organisations is vital to protect Libyan children.'
