Tripoli, May 29, 2025 (LANA) - The Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity, Major General Imad Al-Tarabulsi, sent a letter to the President of the Libyan Football Federation allowing the resumption of the Libyan Six-a-side football league competitions starting today, Thursday, without spectators.
According to the letter from the Minister, the decision was based on "security requirements, and in light of the tensions the country is experiencing during this period."
The Minister indicated in his letter that this decision was made in consultation with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba.
Last Saturday, Dbaiba directed the Ministry of Interior to allow the remaining matches of the six-a-side round of the Libyan Premier League to be held with fans present.
The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Interior to take the necessary security measures to secure these matches.
