Mayors of Western Libyan Municipalities Stress Need to Speed up Parliamentary Elections on Constitutional Basis.

Tripoli, 15 October 2020(Lana) Mayors of the western Libyan Municipalities and the Gabal 'mountain' region have called for elections to be held promptly on constitutional basis. The mayors said, at a meeting held here and attended by Mohamed Emary Zayed Member of Presidency Council and representatives of Workers Union and civil society organisations that they put the interests of homeland first and support the President of HNEC statements that parliamentary elections can be held within 120 days on constitutional platform based on the constitutional declaration. the participants said it was important that elections held at a time not exceeding February 2021, and called on the Presidency Council to provide the material support needed to hold them. They also called on the UN Support Mission in Libya to shoulder its responsibility vis a vis the elections by providing the international monitor and support. =Lana=
