Cairo, 11.06.2020 - Lana - The League of Arab States expressed its
hope that the Accord government in Libya will announce a positive
position on the "Cairo Declaration," indicating that no one wants to
repeat the Syrian scenario in Libya.
The Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, "Hossam
Zaki," said that the League did not believe for a moment that
military actions could resolve the situation in Libya, explaining
that the political track is the one that can lead to ending the
crisis in Libya.
"Zaki," according to what Russia Today channel reported, had asked
all parties to believe in this, and this belief should be reflected
by sitting together as Libyan parties, as a Libyan-Libyan conflict in
the first place.
Zaki, pointed out that the field situation in Libya has developed to
the extent that external interventions stall and make it difficult to
return to the political track.
On the role of the Arab League to prevent the recurrence of the
Syrian scenario in Libya, which is the absence of the Arab solution,
Zaki said: "The specter of the Syrian situation's departure from the
Arab solution hangs over everyone and no one wants to repeat the
matter in Libya, adding that the Arab League is ready to play its
role and this role is dependent on the agreement of the member
states, which can help the Libyans bridge the rift that exists in the
current period.
