USA delivers to Libya archaeological items.

Washington, 19 July 2018 (Lana) A ceremony was held at the Libyan
embassy in Washington Wednesday during which several archaeological
items were handed over to Libya. The items which are pottery date
back to the Germanic era in Libya.GNA Foreign Ministry's media office
said the ministry underscores the event as the archaeological items
are part of the ancient history of Libya and the importance to
deposit such items in their original place Libya for their cultural
and civilization value.
The ministry thanked the US State Department and Home land
Security department for their collaboration with the Libyan
government.
The items were delivered by the US citizen Dr Robert Hawghi who
kept them since the 1960s and represent part of the Germanic
civilization in Libya.
Libya signed last February an MoU with the USA to protect
cultural properties to help recover archaeological items that are
smuggled or transferred illegally from Libya.
