Zulton Oil Field Closed Due to Security Concerns.
Pulbished on:
Tripoli, 12 April 2016(Lana) Workers at Zulton oil fields have
decided to stage a strike to protest the security situation, and
their concerns about imminent attacks by Da'esh on the facility.
In statement they issued on Monday the workers said they decided to
evacuate the oil facility in protest against a perceived lack of
security at oil installations in the Marada Zala basin in Sirte.
The oil workers said that in view of the presence of cars carrying
flags of terrorist Da'esh organisation near oil facilities they have
decided to return to their homes, and would not report back to work
until they feel safe to do so, the statement added.
The workers also decided to halt production, and to set up a crisis
committee to follow up their demands for a security force to protect
the oil fields.
