Office, Catharine Ray said that Rome meeting scheduled for December
13 on Libyan crisis provides an important international platform to
progress towards a national unity government.
She recalled the EU stance supportive of the UN efforts to reach
a political solution in Libya, saying that would be conducive to the
interests of the Libyan people and the international work too in
fighting the so-called state organization.
The EU official in a statement carried by the Italian news agency
Aki Tuesday said any agreement by Libyans to solve the crisis must be
inclusive and should be balanced, and recognizes the role of the
neighbouring states as well regional and international organizations
and this is what the UN and its special envoy Martin Kobler is
working on.
She explained that the EU underlines the basic role played by the
UN in Libya and that the accord reached before under its umbrella is
the one that constitutes " a good basis to the solution of the
Libyan crisis".
