ICC condemns use of mines against civilians in Libya.

The Hague, 11 November 2020 (Lana) The ICC prosecutor Fatou
Bensouda has denounced the increasing use of mines and explosive
devices against civilian in Libya.
In its briefing to the UN Security Council, Bensouda said; "We
received credible reports about 11 mass graves in Tarhuna and
verified information of the increasing use of mines and local made
explosive devices against civilians.
ICC organs are investigating human rights abuses in Libya as well
as reports of mine and explosive devices plantation in car parks,
kitchens, bedrooms and civilian homes, she added.
The ICC prosecutor said; "many civilians who returned to their
homes, which they fled because of fighting were either killed or
injured because their homes were bobby-trapped', it recalled that use
of mines against civilians is a crime by international law.
