Boukadoum described the talks held in Algiers as "fruitful."
He pointed to a "convergence of views" between Algeria and the United
States on the need for a political solution to the Libyan crisis.
He said that the talks allowed for the exchange of views on the
situation in Libya and to address in particular the efforts of the
international community through various initiatives.
Norland, for his part, expressed his country's desire to "deepen
talks with Algeria" on the Libyan crisis.
Norland stressed the importance of "continuing dialogue and
consultation and supporting international efforts" to reach a
political solution to the crisis.
This is the first time that a US Ambassador to Libya and the Algerian
Foreign Minister are discussing Libya.
