US Embassy Congratulates Libyan Author on Winning Pulitzer Prize.

Tripoli, 16 April 2017(Lana) The US Embassy in Libya has
congratulated Libyan author Hisham Matar on winning the prestigious
'Pulitzer' prize for his book 'The Return'.
'We are proud to announce that Hisham Matar has won the Pulitzer
prize for his book 'The Return' in the biography category.
The prize said 'for elegy for home and father that examines with
controlled emotion the past and present of an embattled region.'
The prize is awarded by the distinguished Colombia University in
New York.
The 'Return' chronicles the author's journey home to his home
country Libya, two decades after his father was imprisoned by the
Gaddafi regime.
Matar lives between New York and London, and works as a
university lecturer at Bernard college, University of Colombia.'
