The money is aimed to help create the suitable political
environment to end armed conflicts in the country, according to the
UN office spokesman.
On the same day the UN Security Council approved a draft
resolution extending the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya
UNSMIL for another 9 months until September 15, 2017.
The Council expressed strong support for the ongoing efforts by
UNSMIL to facilitate a Libyan-led solution in the face of challenges
in the country.
