Tripoli, 12 April 2106(Lana) Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentelone arrived at Mi'tig Airport in the Libyan capital Tripoli on Tuesday for a brief visit accompanied by a number of senior Foreign Ministry officials. Italian Coast Guard Rescues 2000 in the Mediterranean.

Rome, 12 April 2016(Lana) Italian coast guard announced that it had rescued 1850 migrants on Monday in separate operations in the canal that separates Italy from Libyan coasts. A statement issued by the Italian coast guard said Italian vessel Diocotte has extended assistance to two rubber dinghies carrying 740, while the navy ship Sigala Volgosi helped two other boats carrying 225 migrants.
