Libyan Navy Rescues 279 Illegal Migrants North of Al Khoms and Al Zawiya.

Al Khoms, 11 January 2017(Lana) Libyan coast guard have rescued a total of 279 illegal migrants off the coasts of Al Khoms and Al Zawiya after the boats they were traveling on broke down, a spokesman for the Libyan Navy said. The migrants who included women and children were rescued by the Libya navy boat Sabrata, the Navy Spokesman Ayub Gasem said, indicating that some were missing. The migrants were of Bangladeshi and Pakistani origin. The desperate migrants were offered medical and other assistance before they were handed over to the anti-migration body in Tajoura. ...
