Rome, 25 December 2018(Lana) Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Konti has expressed hope that 2019 would see free elections in Libya for a better future. In an interview with the Italian 'La Stampa' newspaper, Konti said the decision is Libyans themselves, adding that the political process should go through elections. The proposed National Gathering planned in February could enhance what has been brought forward in the UN roadmap and the Palermo Conference, and create a consensus regarding forthcoming entitlements. 6 Dead and 9 Wounded in Foreign Ministry Terrorist Attack.

Tripoli, 25 December 2018(Lana) A terrorist attack targeted the Libyan Foreign Ministry headquarters in the capital Tripoli on Tuesday. Informed sources said three of the Ministry's employees were killed and 9 wounded in the attack in which 3 of the 4 assailants were also killed. According to the sources 2 of the attackers detonated explosive vests, while the third was killed in a shootout with the security personnel at the building.
