CBL: Commercial Banks Profits Plummet by 25%.

Tripoli, 8 December 2019(Lana) Figures released recently by the Central Bank of Libya have shown that commercial banks profits had fallen by 25.2% to LD 618.5 million in the third quarter of the current year compared to the same period of 2018 which reached LD 827.2 million. Recent figures showed that customers deposits in commercial banks fell from LD 106.4 billion at the end of third quarter of 2018 to LD 91.4 million at the end of third quarter of 2019 or 14.1%. Tripoli, 30.11.2019 - Lana - The UN envoy to Libya, 'Ghassan Salama', criticized the UN Security Council's attitude towards dealing with the Libyan crisis, calling it sterile. In a televised statement, Salama said the United Nations is seeking to establish an international umbrella to implement what Libyans had agreed upon, saying "A political meeting on Libya will be held in Berlin before the end of this year. Berlin, 30.11.2019 - Lana - German Foreign Minister 'Heiko Maas' announced his country's desire to hold a summit at the level of leaders to discuss the Libyan crisis early next year. In a meeting in Berlin, organized by the 'Friedrich-Ebert' Foundation, Maas said, Berlin is hosting preparatory meetings for the planned summit between high-level diplomats.
