CBL Governor Meets Members of World Bank Mission, Chairman of European Commission and EU Ambassadors.

Tripoli, 25 January 2015(Lana) The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya Al Sidiq Alkabir has discussed Libya's state finances and the storming of the CBL branch in Benghazi, with the mission of the World Bank. The Governor also discussed with the mission the country's 2015 budget and the negative impact of the fall of oil prices as the lone source of financing the budget, and the World Bank preparedness to offer technical assistance and determine the priorities for this phase. UN Mission in Libya Condemns Shooting in Front of UN office in Tripoli.

Tripoli, 25 January 2015(Lana) The UN Support Mission in Libya 'UNSMIL' has condemned the armed assault on the UN Development Programme offices in the Libyan capital Tripoli. The UN condemns the shooting incident, and offers its condolences to the diplomatic Police', a statement issued by 'UNSMIL' said. It appealed to the Police to carry out an extensive inquiry into the incident to determine the circumstances and motives of the assault, the statement said, indicating that no UN personnel have been hurt. Algerian Foreign Minister Dismisses Reports of Call by Sahel Countries for Military Intervention in Libya.

Tripoli, 25 January 2015(Lana) Algerian Foreign Minister Ramadan Al Amamra on Saturday denied that the Nouakchott meeting of Sahel states has called for a military intervention in Libya, considering the matter a false interpretation of the declaration issued by the meeting. Tripoli Appeals Court Resumes Trial of Former Regime Elements.

Tripoli, 25 January 2015(Lana) The trial of key officials of the former regime was expected to be resumed in Tripoli on Sunday. The trial of the case NO 630/2012, in which defendants face charges of suppressing the Feb 17 revolution as filed by the general prosecution was adjourned at the last session on Sunday Jan 11 at the request of the prosecution and the defence attorneys.
