National Center for Disease Control takes urgent measures after monkeypox cases are recorded in Africa.

Tripoli, August 14, 2024 (LANA) - The National Center for Disease Control decided to take a package of urgent measures throughout the country after the African Center for Disease Control announced on Tuesday a state of health emergency in the entire African continent due to the increase in monkeypox cases in 16 countries.

The center said that it had taken a package of urgent measures for international health control offices at all land, sea and air ports, with raising the state of alert and readiness for the monitoring and rapid response network throughout the country, as well as ensuring the readiness of community health laboratories and the community health emergency room to follow up on the situation and report any suspected cases for the safety of all.

The National Center for Disease Control reassured everyone that so far no case has been recorded in Libya, stressing that all departments are ready to confront this disease and take everything necessary for the safety of citizens and residents according to its competencies throughout the country.
