Algerian Foreign Minister meets with the French President’s Special Envoy to Libya.

Algiers May 20, 2024 (Lana) Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf met yesterday with the French President’s Special Envoy to Libya, Paul Solar, who is currently visiting Algeria.

According to a statement by the Algerian Foreign Ministry, the meeting was an opportunity to exchange views about the developments in the region and prospects for formulating political solutions to the crises that threaten peace and stability there, away from foreign tensions and interventions.

The meeting came days after the French intelligence website "Africa Intelligence" revealed the readiness of the French capital to host a mini-security summit on Libya headed by Solar and attended by Britain, the USA, and Italy. At the top of the agenda will be a plan to establish joint military units.
