Switzerland hosts a conference on peace in Ukraine in mid-June.

Bern, April 10, 2024 (LANA) - The Swiss government announced today that the conference it is organizing on “Peace in Ukraine” will be held next June 15 and 16 in the capital, Bern.

The Swiss government said, in a statement, “The necessary conditions for holding the conference to launch the peace process have been achieved,” stressing that, as a first step, it will be necessary to develop a common understanding among the participating countries regarding, just and sustainable peace in Ukraine.

Swiss President Viola Amherd announced in mid-January that her country had agreed to a request by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to organize an international peace summit to put an end to the Russian war that began in February 2022.
